A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux

Content Warning:

The Experiment: ISOLATION demo contains strong language and themes of physical violence and mental illness that may not be suitable for all audiences. Viewer discretion is advised.

Aim: Explore the limits and/or advantages of one’s psychological adversity.

Experiment: ISOLATION is a psychological mystery game as experienced by the game's protagonist, Quill. He and thirteen other strangers awake to find themselves trapped in an isolated prison, none of them with any knowledge of where they are or why they might be there. Left to their own devices, they must work together to find out how they can get out before their circumstances take a turn for the worst. Whether they've been selected to participate in a social experiment or possibly even a senseless killing game, it appears they are the only ones who can determine the consequences.

Demo Features:

This is a demo for what will be the full game of Experiment: ISOLATION. This demo exists for the purpose of providing a brief example of how the final game will function and every aspect is subject to potential change. It includes:

  • The prologue and first chapters of Experiment: ISOLATION
  • 3+ hours of playable content
  • Two playable routes
  • 90+ Watchable social events
  • Fully voiced characters
  • Original story, soundtrack, sprites, CGs and backgrounds

Gameplay:

Discussion
Listening to points brought up by the other characters, discuss theories and points in order to further your understanding of the situation. Through agreeing and disagreeing to subject matters, your assertions will influence everyone's perceptions towards certain beliefs and therefore conclusions.

Investigation
In order to build on ideas, a good investigation of your surroundings is only expected. By going around the different rooms and interacting with the search teams already occupying them, you can add various hints and discoveries to your journal for future note.

Patrol
Being stuck in a life-threatening situation with strangers is bound to be drastically uncoordinated, so why not close the gap? As you search for any signs of escape, get to know your fellow captives better by holding one-on-one conversations with or them overhearing them as they interact with the others.

Interrogation
And, dare the brewing tension and paranoia become something truly dangerous, interrogate criminal suspects to figure out both what might've happened and why it did. Harnessing the usage of the Good-Cop-Bad-Cop technique, try to get answers out of uncooperative suspects and solve any outgoing crimes.

Game Development:

Experiment: ISOLATION is currently in development, however this demo is being released to showcase a brief example of what the final game will offer. The game will not be released in chapters but will instead be fully released at a later date.

Is this project still being continued? Sorry but I just love this game!

Yes it is! Announcement regarding development status is to be released in a few days!

will the final game be free?

(+1)

Whether the final game will have a price or not is still undecided! It depends on how the rest of development and other eternal factors work out. However, ideally I would like it to be either free or low cost!

I noticed the game in your status, and oh my god I love Ellie, Auburn, and Plutone before even *playing* the game

Marcelline and Clay too haha

Okok, so this demo was pretty intriguing for a death/killing kind of well... game pfft. The characters were surprisingly very solid, and to me, it felt they all had their time to shine. That said, there were moments where the story felt a bit slow, but nothing too drastic that took me out of the main story. The voice acting is fantastic throughout the demo, but there were moments where the audio levels were a bit wonky. The variation of mic qualities was sometimes a bit jarring as well, but hey, the acting itself was still solid and I'm sure the full game will be better! Aside from that, the art style? Bro, it is so pretty and fits the game's "mood" very well. It's not extremely detailed nor extremely simplistic; it's a good mixture of both! The soundtrack went well with the theme of the game, and I was mainly vibing throughout playing the game itself pfft. As for the dialogue in the game, the conversations were done pretty well for the most part. Every character seemed to bounce off each other in a natural way instead of feeling forced. Overall, I was hooked throughout the whole demo, and I'm excited to see how the full game will turn out! Good stuff!

TL;DR: Demo was good. Acting was solid. Story got me hooked. Gameplay was interesting. Stan Rainy. 100% certified kino. Would recommend it!
